You cannot delete other events. Error returns not always, sometimes it works, sometimes it fails and returns the following error. Hoping for a quick fix; I purchased and setup SmarterMail on Server 2008. I hope my experience helps others who may run into this issue with .NET framework hiccups.

Turns out that the temp directory for .NET framework 4.0 did not have the proper permissions for the service account (Network Service).
