In the picture I can see the shield is directly fixed on the MEGA board where the pins of the shield doesn't come in contact with 50-53 pins. Anyway it clearly sometimes inits.I think it might be worth pulling up the CS pin to 3V3 with a resistor and using a 1N4148 diode between it and the Arduino so Is the card correctly inserted? But I see where you've got to modify Sd2PinMap.h, can I set the pins to 6-9?

Is there any way around it? I think the issue is because of a conflict between the W5100 ethernet chip and the MP3 player shield. Do I need to turn off camera before switching auto-focus on/off? I'm at work but will go home and try out your suggestion and report with details.

Arduino Sd Card Initialization Failed

SD errorCode: 0X1,0X0" So, I start to check my Adafruit Micro SD Card Breakout Board(, which is fine. When I burned one of the example sketch to check the Card Info, I got this error "SD card initialization failed". this was the output obtained???? Initializing Sd Card...initialization Failed. Things To Check

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who gets rankled when the wrong name is used. The next morning I started over again and it came to my mind to use short cables since my module doesn't plug into the arduino directly. Arduino Sd Card Initialization Failed Note: I tried this same test on 2 different sd cards but got the same result. Common values are: Arduino Ethernet shield, pin 4 Sparkfun SD shield, pin 8 Adafruit SD shields and modules, pin 10 Enter the chip select pin number: 8 SD initialization failed. Sdfatlib Arduino To my surprise, all examples of the SD library worked this time, without even having to change "pinMode(10,OUTPUT);" in "pinMode(53,OUTPUT);" or add the "digitalWrite(10,HIGH);" line. Where as it sounds like some connector issue on the SdCard.

Both shields connect to the ISP connector so they use pins 50, 51, 52 for MISO, MOSI, SCK on the Mega.

The AdaFruit shield uses pin 10 for SD_CS. Type any character to restart.I hope that this info will help someone who is facing the same issue. I chose Arduino as it  had a vary stable FAT (File Allocation Table) library. Is chipSelect set to the correct value? It took me a while to find out the solution. Thanks! Often users finally understand the problem, like a bad solder joint on a board or different versions of a part on the board.

To put ON "pull up" resistor the pin should be set to input. Common values are:
* Arduino Ethernet shield, pin 4.
* SparkFun SD shield, pin 8.
* Adafruit SD shields and modules, pin 10.
* Default Do the errors above possibly indicate a hardware issue with the SpF MP3 board?  Perhaps an issue with the microSD connector itself? have you followed the trouble shooting guide: use SdFat Example Library's QuickStart.ino as to see if it can access the card.

What board are you using? There may be side effects of this hack, but I’ve tested only the SD library examples. You could use the SD only, not CAN or EtherNet at the same time with software SPI.
